Artist Discussions in MUSAC, León and Casa Árabe, Madrid - Spain

Manal AlDowayan will be part of panel discussions planned for July 2012. The program will consist of two debates and a curated video program. The theme for the first discussion is "Relation between Modernity and Tradition", curated by Ala Younis, and includes conversations with Amina Menia, Wael Shawky, and Fadi Yazigi. The second discussion is on “Genre and female identity”, and is curated by Elisa Hernando , and includes conversations with Manal Al Dowayan and Asli Sungu. MANAL ALDOWAYAN SOLO SHOW AT KATARA ART CENTER - Doha, Qatar

A Retrospective of Manal’s artworks will be exhibited at Doha’s Katara Art Center. The exhibition will span the artist’s career and will include works from her “I Am”, “Landscapes of the Mind”, “And We Had No Shared Dreams”, and her new art piece “My Name”. “SIMPLY WORDS?” - Exhibition at AB Gallery, Switzerland

The exhibition SIMPLY WORDS? deals with the word - a phenomenon that is not understandable for all. How can the word transcend cultural boundaries? Where is its place in a globalised, digital world?
